I
have suffered from IGA Nephropathy since the age of 12 and the high blood
pressure came with this condition. On that day, they told me that I was born
with it and I only had 6 months to live. I was tired and down, and I had really
bad headaches, nausea, and blood in the urine. I had pain in the back as if
someone was kicking me, and my legs would shake and give out and I was not able
to walk. This affected every part of my life. It was hard because I was so young
and I would have to be in the hospital for a week or a month.
This
condition would come without warning signs – the only thing would be blood in
the urine and after that everything would start all over. The doctors did not
offer me treatment, just tests that they would do. I had to go in every 2 weeks
to get blood work. They prescribed high blood pressure medications that made me
