Main Active Ingredient: It is sweet in taste and neutral in nature. Its therapeutic effect is related to the Channels of the Spleen, Stomach, Small Intestine and Urinary Bladder.
Rhizoma Cimicifugae
Origin: Native of Canada and the United States
Nature and affinity: It is pungent and sweet in flavour, slightly cold in nature and acting on the lung, spleen and stomach channels.
Main Active Ingredient: The chief constituents of cimicifuga are a large amount of resin, isoferulic acid, a trace of salicylic acid, a phytosterol, palmitic acid, and three crystalline bodies which are apparently alcohols. By exhausting with alcohol, concentrating the tincture and pouring it into twenty times its volume of water, about 18 per cent. of cimicifugin, a mixture of resinous and other bodies, is precipitated.
Rhizoma Pinelliae
Origin: Pinellia tuber is the dried tuber of Pinellia ternate (Thunb.) Breit. (Fam. Araceae).
Nature and affinity: It is pungent in taste and warm in nature with slight toxic effect, and is distributed to the Spleen, Stomach and Lung Channels.
Fructus Aurantii
Origin: Provinces of Sichuan, Fiangxi, Fujian and Zhejiang, China
