Endothelium Corneum Gigeriae Galli
Origin: Medicinal chicken's gizzard-skin is the dried lining membrane of the gizzard of Gallus gallus domesticus Brisson, Phasianidae.
Nature and affinity: It is produced in most parts of China.
Main Active Ingredient: It is sweet in taste and neutral in nature. Its therapeutic effect is related to the Channels of the Spleen, Stomach, Small Intestine and Urinary Bladder.
Cortex Phellodendri
Origin: Amur Cork-tree is the dried bark of Phellodendron chinensis Schneid. or Phellodendron amurense Rupr. (Fam. Rutaceae). The former is commonly called “Chuan huangbo” and the latter called “Guan huangbo”
Nature and affinity: It is bitter to the taste, cold in nature, and is distributed to the Kidney and Urinary Bladder Channels.
Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae
Origin: Dried Tangerine Peel is the dried pericarp of the ripe fruit of Citrus reticulate Blanco or its cultivars (Fam. Rutaceae)
Main Active Ingredient: Hesperidin (C28H34O15)
Radix Scutellariae
Origin: Baical Skullcap Root is the dried root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (Fam. Labiatae).
Nature and affinity: It is bitter taste, cold in nature, and is distributed to the Lung, Gall Bladder, Spleen, large Intestine and Small Intestine Channels.
Main Active Ingredient: baicalin (C21H18O11)
Rhizoma Atractylodis

Origin: Indian Bread is the dried sclerotium of the fungus, Poria cocos (Schw.) Wolf (Fam. Plyporaceae).
Nature and affinity: This drug is sweet and tasteless in taste and neutral in nature, and is distributed to the Heart, Spleen, Lung Spleen and Kidney Channels.
Semen Coicis
Origin: Coix Seed is the dried ripe kernel of Coix lacrymajobi L. var. ma-yuen (Roman.) Stapf (Fam. Gramineae).
